5 Things We’re Thankful For This Month

Since November is the time where people sit and reflect on what they’re most thankful for each year, we decided we’d share a few things of our own. So, here are 5 things we’re thankful for this month.

In no particular order, these are some common things we both share gratitude for.

Of course, there are more than 5 things to be thankful for, but we wanted to share just a few kew things that stick out the most lately. With each month, a few of these aspects shift depending on what is most present in our lives at the time. So, here is a current list of what we’re thankful for this month.

Family

We’re thankful for family and the amazing support we see from both sides of our family.

Family is a huge deal to both Cody and me. Ever since we started dating, we knew that family was important. We always wanted to make sure that we both took time and cherish the moments we have with our family.

Not to mention, we’re also thankful for our nonhuman family members like our pets. Sure, Cody and I don’t currently have any children of our own, but we do have Doppler. And we absolutely love and cherish his spunky personality.

The great thing about family, though, is that it doesn’t have to be immediate or even blood-related. The close friendships we have cultivated over the years have been more like family to us and we are forever grateful for these relationships.

Community

Speaking of relationships, we absolutely love the community we have cultivated since the start of The Reckless Pursuit. Whether in the online space or through local hangouts, we are forever thankful for our NOMADS community and those who have been following us online. Not only do we get to have weekly conversations, but we also get to be a part of y’all’s life as well. Whether it be through the hard questions or the fun stories shared, we want to make sure we extend our gratitude to those who are a part of our community.

Outside of the podcast, we are also thankful for all of the networking opportunities and all of the collaborations we have had the pleasure of being a part of. Whether it’s through business, our podcasts, or any other endeavor we have dipped our toes in, we have met amazing people online and even in our own space of influence! We are thankful for all of the life lessons learned from “strangers” on the internet. Cody and I are forever thankful that we have gotten to play a part in some of the most amazing conversations as well as. all the support we have been able to offer others through their journies as well.

Traveling

One of the things that Cody and I absolutely love being able to do is travel the world together. And since we are gearing towards a more nomadic lifestyle online as well, we are able to do more of the things we love to do.

I mean, there is just something about the reset that takes place outside of the comfort of your own home. We have many trips and events we plan on journeying throughout 2020 and we couldn’t be more excited. Whether it’s driving many hours and staring at something other than our phone screens or being in an unfamiliar place, traveling can be one of the most humbling experiences.

And the beautiful thing about traveling is that it doesn’t even have to be an exotic trip outside of the country. Sometimes the best places to explore are the ones an hour from your hometown. You never know what lessons you may learn from getting out of your own home.

Creativity

Creativity I feel like is a huge thing that I’ve never really understood the true value of before. I mean, we get to be creative with our storytelling and through creating content that we’re truly proud of.

Creativity is such a beautiful thing that God has really revealed to me lately and I’m thankful that there’s not a standard for it. We are all creative and unique individuals with strong stories and our own way of telling them. We get to create beautiful art and music and design that speaks from the heart. Not to mention, the ability to understand those around us through their creative styles as well.

Music

Since Cody is the more instrumentally gifted person in our marriage, I will say that I can respect and appreciate music from afar. Being that I am unable to play and instrument and music isn’t my strong suit, I am still able to learn from other musical perspectives.

Cody has a knack for appreciating the thought and love into how music flows freely, or not so freely. He has an ear for things that I haven’t ever noticed or appreciated before in music that I’ve been listening to for years. But one thing we both have in common is a love for music. We both are thankful that there are different types of music and different ways to musically convey a message. I’m thankful for different genres and different artists who create from the heart and explore and experiment with different sounds and techniques.

I’m thankful for Cody’s music as well. And not just because Cody has written a song for me on our Wedding day and produced it a few months later. But I mean, I am really thankful for Cody’s gift of music. The ability to pick up any instrument and play it naturally is just so foreign to me. But I love that music is what he is most passionate about and gifted in.

Now that we shared 5 things we’re grateful for, we also want to know what you are grateful for.
Be sure and let us know how you’re expressing your gratitude this year!
